About Innovation Plumbing Services Inc.
A red seal journeyman plumber with a background in maintenance planning, Gordi Birch started Innovation Plumbing Services in the summer of 2019. He prides himself on being efficient without sacrificing top quality workmanship and service. His strong work ethic, quality workmanship, innovative thinking and dedication to his customers has been the key to the success of the company.
At Innovation Plumbing Services Inc., we treat every customer like they are our first. No matter how big or small the project, we will find a solution and/or fix the problem!
Gordi believes in giving exceptional service for a good price and making sure the client is informed along the project’s lifecycle.
Three Generations of Birch Plumbers
Gordi comes from a long line of men in his family who are notorious for laying pipe. HAHA, that’s Gordi’s way of saying that he comes from a long line of plumbers. Gordi’s father, Gordon Birch, owned Birch and Sons Mechanical in Terrace, BC for more than 10 years. Gordi’s brother and five of his father’s uncles are journeymen plumbers.
When Gordi was16, Gord senior asked Gordi what he wanted to do with his life. Gord senior was just starting his plumbing business and wanted to give his sons the opportunity to make a life for themselves through the trade of plumbing, as he did. Gordi responded to Gord senior that he has noticed how his parents were able to provide a good, comfortable life for his brother and himself, and told his father that he wanted to join his father and work within the family business.
Gordi worked with his father for the first three years of his apprenticeship and then moved to Prince George in 1998. He worked for R&M Installations for two years until he finish his apprenticeship and earned the red seal. He worked various other residential and commercial jobs, such as the UNBC medical building, UNBC lab and University Hospital expansion where he supervised and installed the mechanical systems.
Gordi eventually went to work as a pipefitter with the then known Husky Energy (now Tidewater Midstream). Gordi worked his way up within Tidewater Midstream as their maintenance planner. Gordi was able to develop and hone his planning and business skills in this position, which he would need as an entrepreneur. In May 2021, Gordi took the giant leap of leaving his full-time job to continue to grow and expand Innovation Plumbing Services Inc. full-time and dedicate himself to fulfilling his dream of being self-employed.
Gordi’s passion to build relationships with his customers, pride in ownership and the work his company produces can give his clients peace of mind that they are getting the very best service and workmanship.
